Robert Hall

Robert Hall is an artist based in Luxembourg since 1987. He is a former teacher and is married to fellow artist Diane Jodes; they have one daughter, Mila. Born in the USA, Robert attained degrees in psychology and sculpture. He had his first solo exhibition here at Galerie Dominique Lang in 1994. His site-specific pieces for buildings, companies, galleries and public spaces develop from his research into the historical, functional and associative aspects of a site, often using unexpected materials. Some works are based on historical events or individuals. Robert creates studio-based art works, as well, spanning the mediums of drawing, printmaking, collage, painting and sculpture. He has exhibited his work in USA, England, France, Belgium and in Luxembourg. In addition, Robert is a musician, playing drum set in small ensembles. With Frank Hemmerlé and Peter Perfido he founded the experimental percussion trio Creatures of Habit.
